As one of the last handcrafted tequila in the world, El Tesoro is distilled from estate-grown blue agave in copper, rather than modern stainless steel, to retain more of the agave flavor. Unlike many types of tequila, El Tesoro is distilled to proof, so no water is ever added. The award-winning line of ultra-premium tequila is comprised of the Platinum, Reposado, Añejo, and Añejo Paradiso expressions.
DownloadDon Felipe Camarena built the La Altena distillery in the mountains of Jalisco, Mexico in 1937. The unique atmospheric conditions at its high altitude gave the agave plants a higher sugar level that was ideal for making his 100% blue agave tequila. Today, Carlos Camarena—grandson of the founder—supervises the harvesting of the mature agave and oversees the production of El Tesoro de Don Felipe® to ensure consistency and quality.
